Blueleaf Care’s ‘Bike & Bake’ raises further funds for Macmillan Cancer Support
A Bike & Bake fundraising day organised by Blueleaf Care has raised more than £1,300 in support of the business’ chosen charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.
Employees across the UK were encouraged to bake their favourite cakes and biscuits and/or hop on a static bike at its offices in Crawley and Castleford to raise money for the charity, pledging money for every mile they cycled.
The former saw some creative designs to tempt the taste buds ranging from Lemon Drizzle and Red Velvet to Victoria Sponge and Millionaire Shortbread. The latter saw a team of 12 clock up more than 200 virtual miles to add to the 255 actual miles completed earlier this year by Nick Frogbrook and Ellen Brown(CEO and Sales & Marketing Manager respectively) in an epic four-day ride from London to Paris.
Nick is delighted to be supporting such a worthy cause and care for those who care: “It is heartwarming to see everyone rally together for such an important cause,” he explains.
“Community events like these not only reinforce our own values but also highlights the teamwork and compassion the team brings to raising important issues for Macmillan Cancer Support.”
To date, Blueleaf Care has raised more than £6,000 for the charity.
